Chaparral High School

Project: 195 kW Cogen Plant for College Campus

Design and construction of a 195kW tri-generation system at Chaparral High Scholl in Temecula, California. The turbines generate electricity and hot water reducing boiler hot water requirements in the winter and hot water for absorption chilling in the summer. This tri-generation system offsets the use of central chillers that run during summer peak hours reducing utility costs significantly.

Kaiser Permanente, Elk Grove – Sacramento , CA

Project: 240 kW Cogen System at Utility District Admin. Buildings

Calpwr designed, supplied, and installed the 240 kW plant, which produces about two-thirds of the building electricity needs and all of its domestic hot water and heating. The plant functions as an emergency generator; operating the buildings critical electrical loads indefinitely in the event of a utility outage. System consists of four (4) 60 kW Microturbine generators, heat recovery equipment, fuel gas compressors and ancillaries.
